  It's hard to go wrong with Ankaras and many other positive reviews are a testament to that. If I remember correctly, I purchased one of the very first pairs of Ankaras back in early 2010s. They were made of White Oak Denim and were heavier than these 12.5 oz. jeans. The cut is a classic no-nonsense straight leg cut. No fluff and beating around the bush; a classic straight leg cut. Where these jeans excel is the fabric. Initially the 12.5 oz. denim was very stiff and it took a few weeks of wear to somewhat break them in. It was only after the first hand-wash and line-drying that it softened. Shrinkage is pretty much nonexistent, and since they came in 36" inseam I had them professionally hemmed to 34". But that lightweight denim fabric is simply sublime. The only small drawback I find with these is their pretty "shallow" button fly opening. With these mid-high waist cuts, 6 button flies are more "functional" than the current 5-burron one. So it wouldn’t hurt to let Ankaras evolve a bit in that direction.

  Ok. So I have owned or have been through almost every Japanese brand out there. Fullcount and Boncura were my faves until a month ago when I started wearing the Ankara. The fit is the best I have ever worn. They are about as soft as you can imagine after you wash them once. Great job, amazing jeans

  Best damn jeans I have ever owned; killer fit, quality denim, excellent craftsmanship! Do you know how hard it has been to find jeans that fit me proper? Along f-ing time! Customer for life…word!

  This is my favorite fit from Tellason. Room for the jewels, thighs and boots. Reminiscent of the old 501s without the diaper butt fit in the back end. The 12.5s stretch quite a bit after wearing and definitely after a soak so keep that in mind. I ended up sizing down one. Could go down two depending on how fitted you like em.

  These are the real deal. I own 4 pairs of pants by these guys and they’re all ride or die. Quality fabric and construction. The Tellason guys are down to earth, local, and responsive. Even though I refer Tellason to my denim head friends, I’m hesitant to post anything online for fear Tellason will get bought out and some private equity will keep the name but trash the product. Don’t give up guys. I’ll wear these until I’m 90.

  I´m actually owning some Tellason Jeans such as Elgin, Blubagh and Jgm at the size 30" and they all fit good. Now I`ve got the Ankara 16,5 oz, size 29" and these are my absolute favorit trousers. Fantastic look, feel and shape - perfect fit.

  Excellent quality, as was expected. Ordered the wrong size and Tony called me to help sort out my needs and get a return label to me so I could swap to the correct fit. He also talked through some basics of raw Selvedge denim which was so welcome, as I’m brand new to the hobby. Exchange process was easy and painless. Customer service was so great that I came back for a belt. I could not be happier with my entire Tellason experience experience!
